The D1 Nation was in the house last night to catch what used to be a WILD district match up. Alas, the two squads aren’t in the same district anymore and it’s not your daddy’s roster either. Gone for now are the incredible battles between college bound Senior D1 signees like Killeen’s Tre Nicholls (Boise State), Cory Jefferson (Baylor), TaShawn Thomas (Houston) and Lake Travis’ Jordan Jahr (Evansville) and David Eads (Dartmouth).
Don’t get me wrong, there’s still talent but now Lake Travis does things by committee under new Coach Clint Baty. Last night it was 2013 G Jordan Manse who led with 18. Three other players were in double figures for LT, including 2013 G Stefan Vidovic who had 10 in one half of play.
2014 WG Brian Long of Killeen
Killeen’s best days are ahead of them (and not to far off at that). 2014 star Brian Long an active 6’4″ WG led all scorers with 27 points showing an ability to get to the rim/free throw line and then later in the game from beyond the arc as well. 2014 P 6’7″ Melvin Anthony is going to be a good one once he grows into his body, and Coach Jason Fossett has already given the keys to 2015 PG Demarius Cress.
